To accompany and celebrate Christmas and the end of the year 2025 in their own way, Gearbox and 2K are offering plenty of free content every day to Borderlands 4 players.
As part of this event entitled “The 12 Days of the Mercenary” Gearbox and 2K are offering a free item on Borderlands 4 every day, until January 1, 2026. Like an Advent Calendar, the studio reveals a new free item every 24 hours, which can take different forms. Here is a summary of the free content already offered.
Borderlands 4 accompanies the holiday season in its own way with free content
Like the codes SHiFT allowing you to obtain golden keys or cosmetic items, the “12 Days of the Mercenary” are an opportunity for Borderlands 4 players to retrieve every day since December 20, 2025 and until January 1, 2026 including new free content. Whether it’s golden keys or cosmetic items. Every 24 hours, the franchise’s official X.com account announces new free content to collect. The easiest way to not miss any of the daily updates is to schedule a reminder and view the X.com account in question.
And if you ever missed any free content offered as part of the 12 Days of the Mercenary on Borderlands 4, don’t panic! You will still be able to obtain them until the end of the promotion. Note, however, that the codes for cosmetic items are valid until December 31, 2030while the codes for gold keys expire on December 31, 2025.
How to get this free content related to the end-of-year holidays
You have two ways to get your free items for Borderlands 4. The first is to log into your SHiFT account online, then go to the Rewards tab and enter your SHiFT code. You can also launch the game, go to the Rewards tab, open the SHiFT menu and enter your code there.
