Assassin’s Creed Shadows finally has this requested feature, but fans are still disappointed

One of the last novelties of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is eagerly awaited by many players, still does not satisfy some. And there is a reason for that.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows received a Update 1.0.6 which adds several important innovations. As in previous patches, an unprecedented free quest with the character of Rufino, is available. For those who are looking for a more high challenge, the nightmare mode is also accessible. It makes AI smarter, faster and more aggressive, limits combat resources and reduces the effectiveness of defensive options. The alarm system is now extended to the whole province, and there is no need to Mod to remove visual effects. AC Shadows also finally had the right to a requested feature, but fans are still disappointed.

A recent novelty of Assassin’s Creed Shadows disappoints

Among the new features of patch 1.06 d’Assassin’s Creed Shadowswe also find the possibility of finally activating or deactivating headgear (headband, helmet, hood …) during the cutscenes. A feature requested and appreciated by some but there is one but … for others, it simply arrives too late. “Why was it not available at launch?” It goes beyond me ”; “I’m sorry, but it’s something that should have been in the basic game. It is a basic functionality of modern games ”; “It’s a little too late” Can we read on X.

The addition of the option to activate or deactivate head covers during the kinematics of Assassin’s Creed Shadows arrived on June 25, while the game released on March 20, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X | S and PC. We can therefore understand disappointment, because since time, millions of players have already completed the adventure. Besides, it is not a recent criticism. Several improvements made to AC Shadows have been welcomed lukewarmly by part of the community.

Last May, Assassin’s Creed Shadows made Adjustments to the level of Son Parkourwith more instinctive trips and jumps better managed than at the exit. A good initiative but which, again, arrives too late for those who have already finished the game. It is even more embarrassing here since Parkour is a central element of the gameplay of the Ubisoft license.
