Six months after the release of Clair Obscur Expedition 33, players make a horrifying new discovery that literally sends chills down your spine.
Chiaroscuro Expedition 33 experienced a resounding triumph among others at Golden Joysticks and to Game Awards 2025. This in particular thanks to its characters as well written as they are designed, its excellent dubbing, its captivating storyline and its attention to detail are all reasons which make this RPG from Sandfall Interactive a generational game, despite the controversial who has surrounded him for several days. Even though months after its release, its fascinating universe still hides secrets, including a particularly macabre one recently discovered. A macabre discovery in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
The Forgotten Battlefield is one of the most striking locations in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Very charged from a narrative point of view, it also marked the players by being littered with the corpses of previous expeditioners. Both Expeditions 57 and 41 lost hope while traveling through it, with Expedition 41 deciding to compete against each other to take down as many Nevrons as possible. This location is also a particularly traumatic location for Expedition 33, as many players can attest.
The area has a certain reputation for its dangerousness. Its introductory cinematic shows a colossal Nevron patrolling the premises, and it is precisely he who conceals a secret as fascinating as it is horrifying. THE Dualist is in fact a major boss of the Forgotten Battlefield and one of the most notable in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. He is also responsible for the mountains of corpses that litter the place. Like many Nevrons, his true intentions remain a mystery, but his cape may reveal some.
Spotted by user Blubbpaule on Reddit thanks to Photo mode recently added to the game, the The Dualist’s cape is indeed made from the flags of previous expeditioners who perished in the area. This is a sign that this boss kills for pure pleasure and collects trophies from his victims. He is undoubtedly one of the most prolific killers of Clair Obscur Expedition 33, if we judge by the number of bodies surrounding him and by the pool of blood into which Expedition 33 rushes to face him in a Dantesque boss fight, both in form and in terms of a musical theme that is as intimidating as possible.
