Dying Light the Beast wants to resume the hearts of fans
After the small cold shower that was Dying Light 2despite a solid follow -up after its release by Techland, the studio decided for the new opus of its flagship franchise to review its copy, with a less ambitious project, but which still looks like a third episode. So enter the stage Dying Light the Beast, and the return of Kyle Crane, protagonist of first game. Tymon Smektala thus shared the vision of the studio for this new title from Gamesradar. “” We had to see our ambitions back down. We cannot be perfect in all areas, but we have to be perfect where we are expected ».
Thus, Dying Light The Beast will notably put aside the “narration dictated by our choices” aspect of the previous opus, to focus on a pure action game against zombies with parkour and its emblematic day/night cycle. “” We focused on parkour and hand-to-body fights. We spent a lot of time adjusting the reaction of zombies when they are touched according to the weapons used. It is one of the elements that makes the franchise so special ». Firearms seem that also said to take a more important place in this new part.
The Beast will therefore tell a more “linear” story. Techland, however, wants to do things well towards its protagonist. “” Kyle Crane is a very appreciated character, and we must not plant ourselves on this either, where fans would kill us ». Words on overall encouraging paper. It remains to be seen what it will give when Dying Light The Beast will be released on August 22 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, and later on PS4 and Xbox One.
