Hogwarts Legacy 2: new official revelations for the sequel, it risks dividing players

We no longer know where to stand regarding Hogwarts Legacy 2, while Avalanche Software continues to recruit for an online game that risks dividing fans.

But what exactly does Avalanche have in store for us? This is the big question that everyone has been asking for months. Indeed, given the resounding success encountered by Hogwarts Legacywhich has now sold more than 40 million copies, it is without any surprise that the studio has confirmed that it is working on the development of a sequel, for which the details are still extremely vague. All we know is that job offers at Avalanche are increasing, and that they raise questions about the nature of this future. Hogwarts Legacy 2.

New job offers that worry about Hogwarts Legacy 2?

As proof, over the past year, a handful of job offers have been posted by the studio, giving us some clues as to the nature of what the Hogwarts Legacy team is working on. And against all expectations, it could be that it is in particular a question of an experience very oriented towards multiplayer, some of the offers having displayed notions of “service game”of « PvP » or even “Online multiplayer RPG”. Notions which, this time again, are found at the heart of a new announcement recently published by Avalanche.

And for good reason, currently looking for a senior software engineer, the creators of Hogwarts Legacy 2 indicate that they want to recruit someone to join them on a « nnew online multiplayer RPG ». “This individual will work closely with the project’s engineering, art, and design leads to design and implement the backend infrastructure of an online multiplayer RPG »we can read in particular, while the prerogatives of the position essentially refer to online functionalities.

A clearly busy studio

Note, however, that the offer in question at no time mentions any connection with Hogwarts Legacy 2 or the Harry Potter universe. In fact, it is therefore not impossible that Avalanche actually has several projects in the works, and that this concerns another game very distinct from the Hogwarts Legacy sequel. This would explain why in the midst of all these multiplayer offerings, the studio also had the opportunity to recruit for one “High-quality single-player action-adventure RPG” who, for his part, “takes place in the wizarding universe”.

We bet that the future will tell us. In the meantime, in addition to Hogwarts Legacy 2, there is no doubt that Harry Potter players would be delighted to be able to embark on an online adventure with their friends, particularly if the project is carried out as it should be by Avalanche. Because Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions may not have met with the expected success for Warner Bros, but one thing is certain: Hogwarts Legacy fans, for example, would not be against the implementation of the wizards’ favorite sport in the adventure.
