Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake intends to please fans of the original masterpiece, and a recent declaration by its producer proves it once again.
Expected on August 28, 2025, Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake should give a good youth cure to the original title released in 2004 thanks to a complete overhaul on the Unreal Engine 5. However, this remake intends to keep intact which made the charm of Snake Eater, in particular with regard to its annex content. In the latest Hotline production video dedicated to the famous Konami franchise, its producer Yuji Korekado still confirms it.
As a reminder, it is to Virtuos that we owe Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake. Like what he did for The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered, the idea of the remake of Snake Eater is therefore to offer an important graphic facelift, without distorting the authenticity of the original experience, apart from a few modernizations of the gameplay. We should in particular find there an emblematic annex content of the masterpiece of 2004, including the mini-game Ape Escapebut also the brand new Fox Huntan online mode that is inspired by Metal Gear Online.
Among these elements, we will also find in Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake the Secret Theatera collection of kinematic scenes with more gags, to collect on the different enemies of the game. For its part, this feature should keep the graphics of the timeand not go through the Unreal Engine 5 box. Its producer, Yuji Korekado, confirmed the thing in the last hotline video video dedicated to the franchise, which you can see below in its entirety.
« We owe this decision to the director of the cutscenes of the original game. According to him, the Gags of Secret Theater are more iconic while keeping the graphics of the time. Instead of redoing these videos with the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake graphics, so we decided to keep the old ones. However, we have made new ones, with this time the new engine ». Thus, fans of the original game will not be exhilarated beyond measure, but the most fierce collectors will have new reasons to go hunting for kinematic.
