Nintendo does not laugh at all about its Nintendo Switch 2, and your console could literally be unusable if you don’t be careful. Here is what to remember at all costs.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has just released, and yet a controversy is already swelling. Some players have seen their console be Lifetime banned online services. The reason? The use of a modified cartridge, called Mewhich allows you to load games from a microSD card. And Nintendo does not laugh with that. Explanation…

What is the MIG cartridge exactly for the Nintendo Switch 2?

Concretely, the MIG is a modified Nintendo Switch 2 cartridge. It works with a microSD card on which you can install game copies. These files can be downloaded online, or extracts yourself from a physical cartridge thanks to a tool like the Mig Dumper. But whatever the method. Nintendo considers the use of these cartridges as a direct violation of its conditions of use. Even if you only play your own games, the company makes no distinction.

Result: several users have received the error code 2134-4508. Their console is now prohibited access to online services. No more eshop, updates, online game or even account management. And that’s not all. Some players have attempted a factory reset. Bad idea: it has completely blocked their nintendo switch 2. Impossible to reconnect a Nintendo account, even to play offline. The console remains functional … but almost unusable. Farewell Mario Kart World… (among others).

And the second -hand market in all of this?

On social networks and forums, opinions are shared. For some, Nintendo simply does what it takes to fight against hacking. For others, it is a disproportionate sanctionwhich also penalizes honest or poorly informed players.
