PS5: an ultra -awaited feature is finally confirmed

Good news, the PS5 is preparing the arrival of an updated update by the players for some time now. A breath of fresh air in perspective!

Despite its years of service, the Ps5 Still suffering from a few small inconveniences, and a good part of the community requires improvements at several levels. One of these changes has just been announced, to the delight of players.

A real comfort gain for PS5 players… and PC

Sony has just made a discreet announcement but much awaited by part of his community: the controller DualSense Will soon be able to be associated with several devices at the same time. A software update is scheduled for the end of 2025. A small change on paper, but a real advance in terms of user comfort.

Until now, using a dualsense controller on several devices was a frustrating exercise. Going from PS5 to PC, a smartphone or even a tablet required resetting bluetooth pairing each time. This process, although simple technically, ended up discouraging more than one player, especially those who juggle regularly between different platforms.

With this update, Sony promises to end this gymnastics. The controller will be able to retain several connection profiles and allow you to quickly tip over from one to the other, without having to “forget” the last device used each time. A functionality already present in certain competitors, especially on the side of the Xbox controllers, but which was sorely lacking on the DualSense for the PS5.

A discreet but strategic upgrade

The ad, made via the PlayStation official account on social networks, has not been accompanied by demonstration or technical details for the moment. But the reactions were not long in coming. For many users, especially those who play in Remote Play or use a steam deck, this function is a real breath of fresh air.

This development on PS5 is part of a wider will of Sony to open its ecosystem. Between the portes of games on PC, the development of the PlayStation Link, or the persistent rumors around new accessories, the manufacturer clearly seeks to make its devices more versatile. And this multi-apparent capacity for the dualsense is a logical or even necessary step.

Although welcomed, the announcement also raises several questions for the PS5. How will the tilting between the devices work in practice? Should we press a specific button? Will there be a system of colors or light indicators to point out which device is active? And above all, will this function also be extended to the controllers of the PS VR2, often criticized for their tedious management of pairing? In short, still unanswered questions.
