Red Dead Redemption clearly still has it in the belly, and the fans prove it once again with a particularly awaited mod in preparation.
Fans of Red Dead Redemption did not say their last word. While Rockstar concentrates all its efforts on GTA 6some enthusiasts have decided to take matters into their own hands. And the result promises to be promising: a development mod intends to revive the multiplayer of the very first Red Dead Redemption. Just that.
A multiplayer mode fallen into oblivion for Red Dead Redemption
Released in 2010, Red Dead Redemption remains a video game monument. If the solo campaign has scored a whole generation of players, online mode had also found its audience. Hunts, duels, camp attacks … The multiplayer experience offered a good dose of action in an open and lively far. But Rockstar never followed up. Worse: after dropping Red Dead Online In 2022, the studio now seems to turn the page. Result, it is the community that takes up the torch.
Behind this slightly crazy project, there is a moder called K3rhos. His idea? Create a multiplayer platform inspired by the original RDR. The mod is called RDRMPand it is still in the Alpha phase. For the moment, it especially allows you to lay the technical bases and launch personalized servers. In other words, we are still far from a complete game … but the site is launched. And with a little patience (and a lot of passion), all this could give a second life to the cult game in Rockstar.
A time that falls out
Coincidence? The mod arrives right when Red Dead Redemption is on Steam. A golden opportunity for new players to discover the title and for the alumni to plunge back into this unique western universe. This renewed interest could well give a boost to the development of the mod.
