Currently unavailable to purchase, Silent Hill (1999) and Silent Hill 2 (2001) could soon make their arrival in the GOG catalog if certain clues are to be believed.
After more than a decade of absence, Silent Hill made a real return in force last year in the hands of Bloober Team, which revived life to Silent Hill 2 Through a remake hailed by criticism. And while Konami is now preparing to offer the franchise his first real new game since Book of Memories with Silent Hill fGOG, for its part, seems to tease the imminent arrival of the first two opus on its platform. And obviously, players have the power to make things happen.
Two Silent Hill Cultissimes soon available on Gog?
Renowned for its fight in preserving video games, GOG is a platform similar to Steam allowing PC players to buy hundreds of games safely. Degreed from any DRM system and customer software, it is particularly popular in the sense that it allows you to keep full possession on its entire game library. A library then notably composed of certain retro games, which can now be difficult to access or even inaccessible on most platforms. Like the first Silent Hill, for example.
Indeed, at a time when these lines are written, nor the Premier opus Released in 1999, nor the original Silent Hill 2 released in 2001 are available for purchase, whether on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series. However, in retro game enthusiasts as in franchise fans, many players would however like to have the opportunity to immerse themselves in these emblematic titles of horror. A possibility which could then possibly become reality thanks to Gog, which did not hesitate to put Silent Hill forward in a recent video.
Intended to promote its Gog Dreamlist program, it invites players to offer a list of games that they would like to see land in the site catalog in the future, and especially to vote for them so that it can be more quickly materialized. And inevitably, by highlighting games like Silent Hill, the platform then quickly attracted the attention of franchise fans, who are now ready to mobilize so that this dream finally becomes reality.
Votes accumulate
In fact, with nearly 95,000 votes for the first opus, and 96,000 votes for the second, the two Konami titles seem today in very good track to join the Gog catalog in the more or less close future. Because as it stands, they are then exceeded only by two games, namely Digimon World with 107,000 votes, and Black & White with 106,000 votes. Fans of Silent Hill and Retrogaming, you know what you have to do if you want to (re) discover these two hits of the PS1 and the PS2. To your votes!
