The Elder Scrolls 6 is ultra -awaited, but the news remains rather thin. However, recent information gives a little hope for the future.
Since its announcement in 2018, The Elder Scrolls 6 is one of the most anticipated games of the decade. And yet, we have still seen nothing concrete. No real trailer, no gameplay sequence. Just a tiny teaser. But a new rumor is reciting hope today. This follows another rumor which mentioned the preparation of an internal trailer.
It was Jez Corden, journalist for Windows Central, who dropped the info in a podcast. According to him, The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently in a “rather playable” state. He is not talking about a ready to go out version, but an internal build that would already work, at least partially. He specifies that it is not an official info, nor a massive leak. Rather a corridor noise, a confidence that he considers credible. He also admits that it is very difficult to have reliable information on development at Bethesda.
The problem is that “playable” does not mean much in the world of video games. It can range from a simple TES6 prototype to an almost finished version. A game can be “playable” for years before going out. It was already the case with Starfieldannounced as playable in 2020, when it only happened in 2023. In short, this rumor does not mean that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be released soon. But she suggests that development is advancing, even if it is still a long way.
No presentation for a long time
Despite the hope that this statement is raising, we must remain realistic. According to several ex-developers, an important part of the Bethesda team still worked on Starfield until recently. The development of The Elder Scrolls 6 is therefore probably not yet at full speed.
If we follow the usual logic of the studio, a real presentation will not arrive only a few months before the release. As with Starfield, which was shown seriously in 2023, just before its marketing. We can therefore count on a first trailer around 2026 or 2027 for Tes6. And a possible outing around 2028, or even later.
