Dead by Daylight continues to expand his universe. This time, it’s the turn of The Walking Dead to invite yourself in the mist as we could explain to you on Gameblog. Two emblematic survivors join the casting: Rick Grimes and Michonne. And so as not to spoil anything, Daryl Dixon also returns, with a legendary new appearance.
A crossover already available in testing for The Walking Dead
This new chapter, soberly entitled Dead by Daylight: The Walking Dead, is already playable on the test server (PTB). The full exit is scheduled for July 29. The opportunity to plunge back into the post-apocalyptic atmosphere of the AMC series … but with the well-known mechanics of Dead by Daylight.
This crossover is not content to add characters. It also transforms the decor. When Rick or Michonne are selected, a special version of the Garden of Joy card activates. There are significant places in the series: the famous doors of the Barrés hospital of “Do’t’t Open, Dead Inside”, or the Prison of Seasons 3 and 4. These visual additions clearly strengthen immersion, without betraying the identity of the game. The returns are already excellent!
The actors of the series resume their role
For even more authenticity The Walking Dead, Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus resume their roles of Rick and Daryl. What delight fans, who can embody these cult characters with their original voice. Michonne does not benefit from this treatment at the moment, but it is still perfectly integrated into the gameplay.
Rick de The Walking Dead, is a survivor focused on the strategy. It can search the chests to temporarily repair the broken pallets. He can also protect his injured allies by hiding their traces, but at the cost of his own security. Michonne, she puts on resistance. By treating other players, she wins the ability to get up when she is on the ground. But beware: if it is not treated in time afterwards, it falls. She can also surprise the killer with a rapid escape action, capable of briefly stunning him. The two characters share a cooperative competence which rewards team actions. If a killer is dizzy nearby, the injured survivors earn a temporary endurance bonus and see the position of the killer.
Daryl de The Walking Dead, is not a distinct playable survivor, but he returns with a legendary appearance that pays tribute to him. Fans of the character will therefore be able to find him in full action, arc in hand, in a look faithful to the series.
A logical and successful addition
With this chapter, Behaviour Interactive continues to expand his universe while respecting his DNA. After Stranger Things, Resident Evil ou encore Alan Wake, The Walking Dead Naturally finds its place. The atmosphere of the series fits perfectly with that of the game, where every moment can be the last.
