After a first presentation of The Witcher 4 to Game Awards 2024 who had done sensationthe next title of CD Projekt Red was one of the guests of honor of the State of Unreal 2025, the conference centered on the Unreal Engine 5. It aims to show the future developments of the famous Epic Games engine, just a few days before the Summer Game Fest 2025. As a reminder, the new CIRI-centered saga must be a standard bearer to develop EU 5 capacities to display open-in-way worlds, and this presentation still proves it.
The Witcher 4 shows its new techniques on the Unreal Engine 5
Last month, the Unreal Engine 5 offered itself a preview of its version 5.6 future. Among his new features, we could remember ” large, high -gidelity open worlds, with maximum performance at 60 constant fps », The ability to create them faster, and the In-Engine addition of Meta Human, the impressive creator of engine characters. Regarding new things relating to open worlds, The Witcher 4 is thus as the ideal candidate to illustrate the thing.
CD Projekt Red thus went on stage on the occasion of the State of Unreal 2025 to present all of this in more detail. Upstream of the conference, the Polish studio had indeed indicated that it would spoil a presentation to highlight the innovative technologies and features of the Unreal Engine 5 which will propel the Witcher 4. You can therefore see the result via the video below, and the least that can be said is that it very pleasantly flatters the retina.
The presentation therefore started with a convoy which is attacked by a watch, before Ciri left on his traces accompanied by his faithful Destrier Kelpie. After a transition from Gameplay kinematics that clearly makes your mouth water, CD Projekt announced the color: The gameplay demo runs on a standard PS5 at 60 fps with Raytracing. Technical presentation obliges, the studio highlighted the technique, especially the world of game, which wants to be alive and which should adapt to our actions. The ambition is clear: to create the most immersive open world in the license and this will be an opportunity for players to discover the Kovir region for the first time.
This promises in any case very promising on the technical and visual level. Naturally, plastic is not everything, and we watch The Witcher 4 at the turn for what has always done the strength of CD Projekt Red: narration and writing. For this, however, it will be necessary to be patient, the title does not have to go out before 2027/2028as soon as possible.
