Microsoft continues to enrich the Xbox Game Pass This summer with two new titles available this July 17. Two radically different experiences, but both deserve the detour, whether you play on console, PC or via the cloud. Here is what to remember.
Robocop: Rogue City, the nugget of the Xbox Game Pass
The first game available on the Xbox Game Pass is RoboCop Rogue City. Developed by the Teyon studio, it is a narrative FPS that places players in the shoes of the famous half-man, half-machine police officer. The story takes place between the events of Robocop 2 a Robocop 3with an atmosphere faithful to the films of the 80s. The game is distinguished by its meticulous reconstruction of Strait, its brutal and cynical tone, and especially by the presence of the actor Peter Wellerwhich resumes its iconic role.
In this title on Xbox Game Pass, you are investigating a large criminal network while facing enemies in slow but powerful shootings, like the hero. The game puts on a mixture of action, surveys, and multiple choice dialogues that influence your reputation and your interactions. The visual style is deliberately retro-futuristic, with neon lights, sheet metal, and a synthetic soundtrack that fits perfectly with the universe.
Until now, Robocop: Rogue City has been reserved for players who bought the game on PS5, Xbox Series X | S or PC. Its arrival in the Xbox Game Pass allows a much wider audience to discover this neat adaptation, praised for its fidelity to the original material, even if it remains a little rigid in terms of gameplay.
My Friendly Neighborhood, a horrific surprise disguised as children
At first glance, My Friendly Neighborhood looks like a children’s game on Xbox Game Pass. We come across colorful puppets and a TV set inspired by educational programs of yesteryear. But do not trust appearances: behind his good-natured looks hides a clever and disturbing survival-horror.
The player embodies a technician sent to investigate the mysterious reactivation of an old puppet program. Once there, he discovered a delusional universe where animated dolls have literally took control of the studio. The gameplay, inspired by classics of the genre, mixture of exploration, puzzles and confrontations, with an atmosphere that recalls so much Five Nights at Freddy’s que Resident Evil.
Already praised on PC for its creativity and atmosphere, the game is now accessible to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers on console, PC and via the Cloud.
