Skyrim: This ultra -expected free mod still sells us dreams

If you are fed up with simple mods for Skyrim and want a total conversion, then this ultra -awaited mod is made for you, with a real homecoming.

If you are a fan of The Elder Scrolls, this video will speak to you. The project Skywind has just unveiled a new gameplay demo. And the least we can say is that it sends heavy. As a reminder, this is a mod Skyrim. The goal? Recreate The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (released in 2002) in the engine of Skyrim Special Edition

Morrowind in Skyrim, it goes well

In this sequence of Skyrim’s mod, we discover a unique quest baptized “Save Joncis Dalomax”which takes us from the Imperial Fort of Silen to the dark Daedrical ruins of Ashurnibibi. On the program: exploration, fighting, vicious traps … and above all an overview of the enormous progress of the project.

The quest follows a full scenario. You embody the Nérévarine, sent to save a knight from the order of Cuearében. Nothing revolutionary, but the whole is punctuated, well staged, and carried by Fully doubled dialogues. Yes, each character speaks. At the time of Morrowind, only the first words of each conversation were doubled, the rest was only appeared on the screen. If it was normal at the time, today it can break the immersion. Thanks to this dubbing, but also to the best quality of animations and staging, we really have the impression of living a more modern adventure. Closer to Skyrim.

Impressive visual progress

On the technical side, Skywind impresses. In this video, the team highlights their work on Skyrim with:

  • Dynamic weather effects
  • Lightingmuch more natural and immersive
  • Traps and creaturescarefully reworked
  • The sound atmospherebetween original music and worked sound effects

Daedrical ruins, in particular, give off a heavy and disturbing atmosphere. Shadow games, trembling lights … Everything seems to be thought of to recall the sensations of the original Morrowind, but with real modernity. What you need to know is that Skywind is entirely made by volunteers. In the comments, we also see several former contributors to recognize their work, sometimes done years ago. Some find forgotten 3D models, others hear their voice in the game. It is a collective Skyrim project, and it feels every second.
